Exeter Strimming: garden and land clearance website

The job
What the site had to do
Someone searching for a strimming or clearance service usually has a garden that has got away from them and wants to know two things fast: will you do it, and what will it cost. The site had to answer both on the first screen and make booking the obvious next step.
What we built
How it does it
The price on the first screen
The hourly rate is published on the home page with the minimum job worked out beside it, so a visitor can price the job before they ring.
A before and after they can drag
A slider wipes between the same hedgebank standing and cut. It uses two generated illustrations and says so underneath, rather than passing them off as a customer's garden.
Three services, three pages
Overgrown gardens, brambles and bracken, and banks and paddocks each get their own page, so each kind of search lands on the page that answers it.
Local pages written for the ground
Every town covered has its own page, written for the ground you actually get there rather than the same paragraph with the name changed.
The details
Small things that turn a visit into an enquiry
- Call and book buttons in the header on every page
- A credentials section covering insurance and waste carrier registration
- A guide to what an hour of work actually covers
- A before, during and after walk through of a booking
- Plain answers in a questions section
Everything described here can be seen on the live site at exeterstrimming.co.uk. Project sizes vary; your five or ten page scope is agreed before we begin.
